Stories from the Lievito Fresco kitchen — baking basics, ingredient know-how, travel finds, and home hosting ideas.

Not every kitchen question fits inside a recipe. This is where the longer pieces live: how an ingredient actually behaves and what to do when you only have the other kind, what is worth carrying home from a market, and the background to dishes that turn up elsewhere on the site.

Two kinds of writing end up here. Technique and ingredient pieces answer the questions that come up mid-recipe — the difference between fresh and instant yeast, and how to swap one for the other without guessing at the maths. Travel and kitchen notes cover the places and objects behind the cooking: what to bring back from a trip that will actually get used, and why a particular dish is made the way it is.

New posts are occasional rather than scheduled — they get written when there is something genuinely worth explaining at length.
